It’s struck me that the secret to living a fabulous life is to live in the heart and not the head. I had this realisation when I was having one of those perfect moments. It was a Saturday morning and for once we didn’t have to rush off anywhere. I was sitting up in bed drinking my favourite mug of cacao, next to my husband who was reading the gardening book I’d just treated him to, while I fussed my favourite cat, Juniper. This beautifully peaceful moment was, of course, short lived, but just in that moment I couldn’t have been any happier… And that’s the secret – noticing those fabulous fleeting moments, and being fully present to the joy and appreciation that it’s possible to feel.

October has been an incredible month for me as I’ve been blessed to see two of the most inspirational speakers of our time – Eckhart Tolle and Teal Swan. Many people find Eckhart’s voice difficult to listen to, but I was totally captivated and very surprised by his wonderful dry humour. He spoke at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This was the first time I’ve ever visited this wonder place. My jaw hit the floor, and I gasped in amazement to see this incredible building packed to the rafters with people. I felt, being with so many people, listening to him speak about consciousness and present awareness, is a clear sign of hope. If you’ve not yet visited this magnificent building, I highly recommend you put it on your wish list.

Eckhart most insightful message was that, just because we’re leading spiritual lives, this doesn’t prevent the trials and tribulations that life will inevitably throw at us. The world isn’ t here to make you happy. It’s here to awaken us. Life is a sense of perception, thoughts and an underlying sense of being-ness. Everyone is human, but not everyone is a human being, because that requires conscious recognition. The art of living is not to be used by your mind, consumed within a constant stream of thoughts. His advice is to practice becoming aware of the silence in the room and the space between words. While you are noticing the silence, you are unable to think, and immediately benefit to the stillness within you.

Seeing Teal Swan deliver a Synchronisation Workshop in Birmingham was easily one of the best days of my life. For many years now, she has been my biggest inspiration for understanding the human condition. She has created a YouTube video on any issue we may encounter. She describes herself as being born with all her sensors blown wide open, so her depth of perception is quite literally out of this world. Traveling around the globe delivering her workshops, she invites audience members on to the stage to discuss their issues and ask her questions. Her insight is the most profound and insightful I have ever witnessed.

The most insightful concept I picked up from Teal is that individually we have streams of consciousness that flow through us. For some people it’s just a gentle stream, and they seem to float through life. For others, it’s like the Niagara Falls – the current flows so fast that their intensity of being is profound. Many people thought to be on the spectrum fall into this category – how magical is that to understand!

She shared a harrowing video depicting our current life as a pressure pot. Both natural, and not so natural disasters, and war rage around us, we are faced with economic collapse. Now is not the time to retreat into our own little shells. Her most helpful advice for us is to “become the antidote.” Each and every one of us is capable of making a difference in our own way to relieve the suffering of this world. I’m reminded of the words of Gandhi: “Be the change that you wish to see.”

This month I’ll be giving Angel Card readings in person at the lovely Mind, Body Spirit fair at the Mercure Haydock Hotel, Penny Lane WA11 9SG on Sunday 12th November from 10.30am – 4.30pm. Our lovely Angelic Energies Gathering will be taking place on Wednesday 8th November, from 7.30pm – 9pm at the KickStart Wellness Hub in Halifax. If you’ve not been before, it’s a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people, and relax and unwind with a guided meditation, and gain insight with oracle cards. It’s £7.50 entry & there’s no need to pre-book – I’ll have the kettle on. X
